All Chaplains who have worked in General Practice for at least a year are encouraged to demonstrate the professional nature of their work either through ACGP initial Accreditation and annual Re-Accreditation, or through ACGP initial Certification and annual Re-Certification.
Accreditation / Re-Accreditation
Accreditation is available to Chaplains who have already worked in Primary Healthcare Chaplaincy for more than 6 hours a week for at least a year.
Successful applicants will become Accredited Practitioners.

Certification / Re-Certification
Certification is available to Chaplains who have already worked in Primary Healthcare Chaplaincy for less than 6 hours a week for at least a year.
Certification is also available for those working more than 6 hours a week and choose not to apply for Accreditation. Successful applicants will become Certified Practitioners.
