Our CPD sessions enable Chaplains across the country to meet together to share highs and lows in Primary Healthcare Chaplaincy and include a training element from a guest speaker.
The sessions are tailored to those already working or volunteering as Chaplains in General Practice. If you are a new or prospective Chaplain in General Practice, we would recommend you join us for our Foundations of Primary Healthcare Chaplaincy course.

This is a half-day event aimed at those already working or volunteering as Chaplains in Primary Healthcare. Join us for a morning of support and encouragement and learn more about ‘Exploring how to support People Affected by Trauma in Primary Healthcare Chaplaincy' - with guest speaker Dr Malcolm Laird, GP and Chaplain.

- 2024: Lis Whybrow (Life Coach) who led a skills-based seminar on 'Coaching Skills in a Chaplaincy Setting'.
- Nov 2023: Helen Watts (Senior Chaplain for Wellbeing in Birmingham) who led a seminar on 'Spiritual conversations with people who don't describe themselves as religious'.
- 2023: Alison Paris (counsellor, trainer, supervisor and spiritual accompanist) who directed a seminar entitled 'Making the Most of Supervision'.
- 2022: Dr Hilary Garraway (consultant clinical psychologist) who led a seminar on Holistic Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.
- 2021: Liz Bryson (our Accreditation advisor), who provided training about achieving Accreditation with ACGP.

- An exploration of the ways in which people affected by trauma might present in Chaplaincy sessions, including some thoughts on patients' experiences
- Introducing the Rewind technique, with our guest speaker, Dr Malcolm Laird, followed by a Chaplain's first-hand experience of working with the technique.
- Discussion about good practice for active listening, bearing witness, and offering hope to patients affected by trauma.
